5-10 min before sighting the orcas at the east tip of Tumbo Island, saw a very large splash toward the west end of Tumbo Channel up against Tumbo Island. Orcas moving fast past Tumbo Channel, then spread out past Cliffside into Boundary Pass as headed SW. Some tail-slapping mid-channel before 3-4 orcas were directly in the path of a huge cargo ship that did not slow speed or attempt course shift. Cliffside Sighters reported upward of 15-20 orcas.
